An Ikeja magistrates’ court, on Tuesday, remanded a 27-year-old man, Adebayo Agboola, in the Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling the nine-month-old baby of his neighbour.
The Magistrate, Mrs E. Kubeinje, directed the prosecutor to send the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for advice and adjourned the case to May 5.
Earlier, the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, told the court that the offence was committed on March 23.

Ajayi said that the 16-year-old mother of the baby left her child in the care of Agboola to buy noodles not far from her home when he committed the crime.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. (NAN)
