At least nine persons died while 10 others were left “critically injured” in an accident involving two vehicles in Sabaru Village near Gamoji town in Gaya Local Government Area of Kano State.
The early morning crash involved a Toyota Hiace Bus and a Sharon car coming from the opposite direction.

Gamoji is a border town linking Jigawa and Kano States.
An eyewitness told Daily Trust that the bus was coming from Azare in Bauchi State to Kano, while the car was reportedly on its way from Kano to Dutse when they collided in the village.
Bodies of the victims were moved to Gaya General Hospital where efforts were being made to contact their relatives, while the injured were receiving treatment.
The spokesman for the Jigawa State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ibrahim Gambo, confirmed the development.
He said the accident involved a Toyota Hummer bus, with registration number, DRZ, 846, XA and Sharon vehicle with registration DAL, 830, XA
Gambo said one of the speeding vehicles lost control after dodging a pothole, resulting in a head-on collision.
The official said 19 people (adults) were involved in the accident with 17 males and two females who were on-board both vehicles.
All the deceased victims were male, while two females were among the critically injured victims, the official added.
