Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State on Wednesday said nine persons have been arrested in connection with the attack on a former Governor of the Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area.
Obiano said this at Prof. Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Centre Awka, the state capital during the presentation of a book, titled ‘Governor Willie Obiano: 7 Years of Delivering Good Governance in Anambra State’ written by the Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Broadcasting Corporation, ABS, Dr Uche Nworah. Prof. Soludo, a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was last month attacked by gunmen in his community, Isuofia, during an interactive session with youths.
Obiano said: “What happened last month was unfortunate, but let me tell you, we have strategized and we are coming out like a smoking gun.
“We are not going to take prisoners. The nine people that attacked Prof Soludo are in our net now. We are going to eliminate them. We will go after the others.”
According to the governor, the state has put in place a special squad already working in every part of the state.
