About 850,000 children are to be immunized against measles in Kebbi State as the state government and its development partners, UNICEF , WHO and NPHCDA flagged off the 2017/ 18 vaccination campaign against the disease in Bagudo local government area of the state on Saturday.
The areas of the state to be covered during the first phase of the vaccination campaign are Bagudo, Sakaba, Fakai, Zuru,Suru, Koko/Besse, Yauri, Dandi and others. The second phase will cover Birnin Kebbi, Aliero, Jega, Kalgo, Gwandu, Maiyama and others.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, the Permanent Secretary, state Ministry of Health, Hajiya Halima Dikko, said, “The vaccination campaign is being implemented at its best period and we are targeting 850,000 children for immunization against the dreaded disease in Kebbi State.”
