Hoodlums have allegedly kidnapped an 85-year-old grandmother, Hajia Habiba Isah, at Ajakolia,-Abocho in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, demanding N5m.
The woman was said to have been kidnapped shortly after finishing her evening prayers at her house at the weekend.
One of her children said the hoodlums came to her compound after she had completed her night prayer, ‘Ishai’ around 8:25pm and tricked her out , carrying her to their captivity and later dropped their demand for ransom before she could be left off their hook .
He said two young men emerged from nowhere suddenly on bike and met his mother in her room. After exchanging pleasantries, they introduced themselves as her son’s errand boys who work for him in one of his ongoing housing projects in Lokoja.

They claimed that her son sent them to bring her to a neigbouring village for a private discussion.
The hoodlums impressed upon her that their boss did not want anybody to know that he is in town around the neighbouring village, assuring her that she would come back to the village after a brief discussion with him.
It was gathered further that the woman was abducted with six others that evening and taken to an undisclosed location in the bush for ransom-taking.
The cell phone of the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, , SP William Aya, was said to be off following an attempt to contact him on the development.
A text message was sent to him to that effect but no reply as at time of filing this report.
