A projected 8,000 vendors will be exhibiting local foods on Saturday at the first food fair organised by Zaria Metropolitan Authority in Kaduna State.
The vendors are expected to showcase local content with a view of promoting local foods to the national and international communities.
Speaking about the event, the Commissioner of the authority, Hajiya Balaraba Inuwa Aliyu, said the overall aim was to create synergy between stakeholders in food production, processing and consumption.
She noted that since the area was naturally blessed with lots of agricultural activities, the authority intended to provide links between farmers of assorted commodities and experts to help boost food security.
