The Plateau State Police Command has arrested an 80-year-old man, Peter Ashom for allegedly defiling an 11-year-old girl in the state.
Mr Julius Alawari, the Commissioner of Police in the state disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday in Jos.
He said ”On October 9, we received information that one Peter Ashom, 80, lured an 11-year-old girl into his room and had carnal knowledge of her.
”He did that under the pretense of sending her on errands anytime she goes to sell groundnuts to him.

”He threatened to kill her if she told anyone.
”The case is still under investigation and will be charged to court upon completion of due investigation,” he said.
The commissioner added that the command arrested 37 other suspects, recovered 18 different locally made rifles and 23 ammunitions for computing various offences between October1 to date.
He said that all suspects would be charged to court after investigations. (NAN)
