8-year-old girl raped in Delta

A 50-year-old man name has reportedly raped an eight-year-old girl on Oghene Road in the Amukpe area in Sapele LGA of Delta State.

City & Crime gathered that the victim was staying with her guardian in the area.

As at press time, the spokesman of the police in the state, Bright Edafe, was yet to respond to a WhatsApp message on the incident.

But a source who spoke to newsmen, said the suspect was arrested by police operatives.

He further said that the suspect was a father of seven and an active member of the vigilante group in the locality.

He said, “Initially, the girl did not disclose the incident to her uncle. It was only when she started experiencing pain in her private parts that her uncle became suspicious that something was amiss.

“Upon being confronted, the suspect, who denied the allegation, later confessed to the crime.”
