The Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has forwarded the names of 18 commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening.
Speaker, Engr Yakubu Danlad-Salihu, disclosed this during Monday’s plenary while reading the governor’s message.
The House also approved the governor’s request for the appointment of 10 special advisers.
Daily Trust observed that the list contained 8 female nominees and 10 men. It also contained four former commissioners who served with the governor during his first term of office. The list is believed to be the first batch considering that there are 24 constituencies in the state.
Similarly, the Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed has sworn in 24 new commissioners in the state. Five of the 24 commissioners are women.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony performed by the State Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar, yesterday held at the Government House, Bauchi, the governor warned them against violating the Oath of Office and all forms of corrupt practices in discharging their duties.
