A fire has burnt over 20 animals and eight silos at Anguwar Gyartai in Bichi LGA of Kano State.
The fire reportedly started from an open area where the animals were kept and spread to the silos.
According to the spokesman of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, the agency received a call that fire had engulfed an animal enclosure and some silos.
He said fire officers drafted to the scene quenched the fire which had already killed about 20 animals and destroyed eight silos worth millions of naira.
He added that the fire had spread to nearby houses where three people were suffocated, noting that injured victims were receiving treatment at the Shuwaki health centre.
