Bandits have abducted six women and two men at Unguwar Alkasim village near the Foundation area along Kaduna-Zaria in Igabi LGA of Kaduna State.
The incident happened in the early hours of Monday when the bandits attacked the community, shooting to scare the villagers away.
A resident who identified himself as Malam Adamu said fear had enveloped the village.
“We are all afraid now because initially 11 villagers were abducted, but the bandits later released three and went away with eight-six females and two male adults,” he said. When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Mohammed Jalige, promised to get back to our reporter but had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.

It could be recalled that bandits last week abducted four housewives and killed two other people at Unguwar Awo village, near Unguwar Alkasim village. Two other villagers sustained gunshot injuries in the attack.
The bandits have yet to contact the families.
