750 stolen artifacts returned to Italy

In a momentous victory against art theft, the Carabinieri art police announced on Wednesday that they have successfully seized 750 looted archaeological treasures from a notorious British antiquities trader, Robin Symes. The priceless artifacts are finally being returned to their rightful home in Italy.

According to estimates by the Italian cultural ministry, the confiscated artifacts hold a staggering value of over €12 million ($12.9 million). To celebrate their repatriation and showcase the nation’s commitment to preserving its cultural heritage, these treasures will soon find a new home in Rome’s esteemed Castel Sant’Angelo museum.

Among the notable finds are a bronze tripod table once belonging to an aristocratic Etruscan family, two exquisitely crafted parade headgear for horses, two captivating funerary paintings, finely sculpted marble male busts, fragments of statues and bronzes, and a mesmerizing wall painting depicting a small temple, likely originating from a Vesuvian residence.
