The Arewa Development Support Initiative (ADSI) has empowered 75 young people including women with a soft loan of N1.5m to improve their small businesses in Benue State.
State Coordinator of ADSI, Chief Mrs Esther Ogaero, while addressing the beneficiaries of the loan in Makurdi, said the idea was meant to impact them positively considering the present economic challenges in the country.
Ogaero said the initiative, a brainchild of the national president, Hajiya Khuraira Musa, seeks the inclusion of women and young people in financial access to better their living conditions.
Also speaking, the State Supervising Trustee, Salome Gar, explained that the organisation reached out to beneficiaries without drawing boundaries on their religious or ethnic identities.

She added that plans are underway to train interested people in skill acquisition so they can earn money for themselves in the long run.
On his part, Ben Gar, an official of ADSI, said the beneficiaries were given a total of N1.5m.
