A seventy-four-year-old man, Jibril Musa, was apprehended by residents of Rigasa community in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State for stealing mats from a local mosque.
The incident took place on Tuesday on Sarkin Bori Sule Street. Complaints about the theft of new mosque mats in the area had been frequent. Musa admitted to stealing mats from various mosques over the past decade.
Musa confessed that this was the second time he had stolen mats from the same mosque. He explained, “I was caught with a mat that I took from the mosque. I used to participate in the congregation, and after people left, I would take the new mats. “Sometimes, I would wait until the mosque was empty before taking the mats. This is the second time I have taken mats from this mosque. I used to sell the mats for N1500-N2000 each.”

He also revealed that other times, he would steal wall clocks but never the Quran.
