70,000 minimum wage should be rejected – CLO

The director Civil Liberties Organization (CLO) has declared the proposed minimum wage of N70,000 is unjustifiable and should be rejected.

Comrade Joel Aluko, president of the organization in his reaction to the reported agreement between the federal government and NLC to peg the minimum wage at N70,000 insisted that no right thinking Nigerian will celebrate the minimum wage.

Aluko said, “Given the current economic reality, inflationary trend, and other factors, N70,000 minimum wage is unwelcomed because it does not give the Nigerian workers a living wage but a slavery wage.”
