No fewer than 7,000 security agents, including the police, army and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), would be deployed across Ondo State for the general elections.
The Commissioner of Police, Oyediran Oyeyemi, stated this on Tuesday, shortly after a meeting with the heads of security agencies in Akure, the state capital.

Oyeyemi, who was flanked by other security chiefs in the state, disclosed that security operatives were being deployed for the election amid the scarcity of fuel and naira crunch.
This came as the Administrative Secretary and acting Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ondo State, Mr Oyetola Oyelami, revealed that 17,562 ad hoc staff had been trained for elections in the state.
He said over 300,000 PVCs had not been collected.
