Police in Kaduna State have arrested four suspected kidnappers involved in several abductions across the northwest subregion, including a 70-year-old man.
Authorities also recovered firearms, including an AK-47 rifle, a locally made pistol, and three cartridges from the suspects.
Police spokesman in Kaduna, Mansir Hassan, said in a statement that the arrests occurred on May 29, 2024.
He said the police acted on a tip-off from a concerned citizen, leading a joint patrol team of officers from the Saminaka Division and hunters in the Lere LGA to successfully apprehend three suspects involved in kidnapping and cattle rustling.

The suspects were identified as Isah Baffa Rabo, male, 30, from Maibindiga Village; Ja’afaru Sale, male, 30, from Durumi Village and Umar Musa, male, 24, from Durumi Village all in Lere LGA.
In another development, Hassan said following credible intelligence about the suspicious movement of an armed bandit, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Tudun Wada Zaria Division led a swift operation resulting in the arrest of one Hussaini, male, 70, from Tudunjukun in Zaria.
He said the arrest took place at about 2.50am on the same date, during which an AK-47 rifle, a locally made pistol, and three cartridges were recovered from the suspect.
