A 70-year-old mother of nine has allegedly committed suicide by hanging on Enamejewa Street, off Warri-Sapele road in Warri South LGA of Delta State.
City & Crime gathered that the incident occurred on Monday evening.
The cause of the woman taking her life was not known as there was no written note from her.
However, it was learnt that the woman, a devout catholic, had allegedly threatened to take her life to the hearing of her children and that she allegedly attempted to take her life by drinking a poisonous substance the previous day to no avail.

She was reported to have eventually carried out her threat by hanging with her wrapper in the public toilet of the compound she lived in.
It was gathered that it was one of her little granddaughters that sensed that something was amiss when she observed that her grandmother has over stayed in the toilet .
When contacted, the state’s police spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident.
