7 varsities get research centres

In a move towards advancing the Science of Accountancy in Nigeria, the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) has donated research centres to seven Nigerian universities.

ANAN President Alhaji Shehu Ladan who disclosed this in Sokoto, said the N100million worth “Leadership, Accounting Development and Networking (LADAN) Centre” donated to the      Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, (UDUS) was the 7th.

The six others are Nasarawa State University,Keffi, Kogi State University, Ayingba, University of Jos, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka.

Speaking at the commissioning of the centre in Sokoto, Ladan disclosed that it was constructed, equipped and fully furnished by the association.

In a remark, UDUS Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Zuru said the university community would continue to remain grateful to the association to give back to the society by way of providing a facility that will promote research and development.
