The accident occurred Tuesday when a truck conveying mostly Hausa youths with cows, goats and fowls presumably from the North had a brake failure, leading to multiple somersaults.
Delta State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Uchechukwu Wihioka, who confirmed the accident, attributed it to brake failure.
Wihioka said six among the persons that died in the crash “jumped off the somersaulting truck in an attempt to save their lives.”
