However, when they were accosted and persuaded to have a taste of the meat, they refused.
This raised the suspicion of the security officers who promptly arrested them.
The school’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Bezze Nwosu, confirmed to our correspondent that the seven persons claimed to have come from a street in Aba, Abia State.
He said that they could not give a good account of the dry meat they’re selling, adding that the vigilant security men arrested them when they could not have a taste of meat.
The institution confirmed the development in a statement signed by A. E. Okoronkwo, on behalf of the registrar. The statement said the suspects were caught on Tuesday June 22, while peddling unwholesome meat.
The statement warned the Polytechnic community to be careful of what they consume and their sources henceforth.
