Seven people were on Wednesday apprehended by the Benue State Internal Revenue (BIRS) Task Force for engaging in alleged illegal tax activities.
The suspects were said to have mounted and operated illegal checkpoints at various locations in the state.
Media aide at BIRS, Terkula Ati, stated that the culprits were arrested during a routine check by the task force in Gboko, Kwande, Ushongo and Buruku Local Government Areas respectively.
He disclosed that, Adamu Toryue, Tordue Gwaza were arrested at Tyogbenda Msa in Ushongo LGA while one Aondofa Agasha was nabbed at Ugbema in Buruku LGA and Msughter Tyoshom apprehended at the Secretariat in Adikpo Kwande LGA.
Others are Aondofa Chia, Terungwa Tyogbidye and Terseer Amee all of who were arrested at Buruku Junction in Yandev, Gboko LGA.
Ati added that all the suspects have been handed over to the police for prosecution.
