A 63-year-old man, Mr Victor Omosigho, has been arrested by the police over his alleged attempt to kill a mechanic, Ekuaze Vincent, with a pistol at a mechanic workshop on Ihama Road in Benin City, Edo State.
It was gathered that the incident happened following an altercation between the man and the mechanic over fixing his car.
Sources said that following the altercation, Mr Omosigho left the scene and later came back with a pistol to shoot Vincent.
A source said Mr Omosigho was however overpowered with the help of people and a distress call put across to the police who stormed the scene and arrested him.
The Edo State Police Command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the incident, said investigation was ongoing.
