62-year-old man drowns in Kwara well

A 62-year-old man, Ibrahim Tajudeen, has been recovered dead from a well in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

The incident, it was gathered, occurred around 8pm at the weekend behind Olayemi Hospital, off Airport Road, Gbagba area of Ilorin.

Residents told City & Crime on Sunday that the the late Tajudeen had struggled with a mental issues before the incident.

A source said, “We were standing outside and saw him when he walked past towards the well, but nobody thought he had any ulterior motive.

“It was while searching for him later that we discovered he had been trapped inside the well.”

An official of the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle, confirmed the incident, saying, “We handed him over to one Mr Onawole Najeem, his elder brother.
