61 orphans get varsity scholarship

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State on Sunday distributed ATM cards to orphans who benefitted from the Qatar Charity Foundation.

This was contained in a statement signed by his Director General, Press and Media Affairs, Mr Mamman Mohammed, made available to newsmen in Damaturu.

The governor, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Ustaz Babagana Malam Kyari, said the orphans were to enjoy scholarships from primary school to university from the foundation.

He said the foundation would pay the beneficiaries directly into their personal accounts to avoid diversion.

He commended the foundation for its support to the less privileged.

Malam Kyari explained that the beneficiaries were carefully selected, adding that more orphans had been profiled to benefit from the foundation.
