It was the second phase of medical diagnosis and treatment sponsored by member representing Tambuwal/Kebbbe federal constituency, Hon. Abdussamad Dasuki.

Consultant of the medical outreach, Dr. Muhammad Yahaya, explained that the exercise was for people suffering from any kind of illness  to be diagnosed and treated.

"It was to provide free diagnosis for all types of illnesses as well as free drugs," he stated.

Yahya  however said,"Those found with ailments that required surgery were referred to hospitals for operation and the cost of such surgery was borne by him."

He said 100  final year students of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto assisted in  the free medical outreach.

The team leader, Jabir Yakubu Imam declared, "We are always ready to assist any member of the society that is prepared to help the less privileged."

A cross section of beneficiaries lauded Dasuki for the gesture.

Commenting on the programme, Dasuki noted that  many people were suffering from various illnesses and could not  afford costs of medical treatment.

"Government cannot do it alone. It is therefore my responsibility to come in by doing the little I can to assist those that need it," he stated.

Dasuki said the first phase of the free medical care services started at Tambuwal and Kebbe and that the exercise would continue until all members of his constituency who need medical attention, benefit from the gesture.
