600 dead, retired teachers to be replaced

The Kwara State Government has said it will employ no fewer than 600 teachers to fill vacancies created by death and retirement in different subjects.

The Chairman of the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB), Prof Raheem Adaramaja, disclosed this on Saturday, adding that the bulk of qualified applicants from a recruitment exercise in 2021 would fill the vacancies.

He explained that the delay was due to the cost and length of time associated with a new recruitment exercise, noting that the new vacancies arose as a result of retirement, death, relocation and other factors.
