A Minna magistrates’ court in Niger State has sentenced two women, Fatima Ahmadu (60) and Hafsat Ilyasu (21), to four years imprisonment each for breaking into a house and stealing.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Inspector Aliyu Yakubu Kuta, told the court that one Alhaji Abdullahi Naminna phoned the Minna GRA Police Division that thieves were operating in a house in Tayi village in Minna LGA.

He said the police responded and went to the scene and arrested Fatima Ahmadu and Hafsat Ilyasu, both of Sayako area of Minna.
The prosecutor said a 45-inch plasma TV, boxes of wrappers and children’s clothes and jewelry valued at about N7m were recovered from them.
The suspects admitted and pleaded guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Hajiya Hauwa Kulu Isah, sentenced them to four years imprisonment each with an option of N400.000 fine.
