The Niger State Police command has arraigned six civil servants of the state government before the Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged forgery.
They were standing trial on a four-count charge of criminal conspiracy, forgery, criminal breach of trust and cheating.
The six civil servants were alleged to have belonged to a syndicate spread in various ministries and parastatals in the state, which specialized in forging documents of persons who died while in service, processed their files, and claimed their entitlements.
The Head of the Legal Unit of the State Criminal and Investigative Department SCIID, Mr Thadeous Jude Akaeze (DSP) who led other prosecuting police officers, gave the names of the six civil servants as Abubakar Bello of the Ministry of Science and Technical Schools Board attached to the Vocational Training School Minna; Abubakar Ladan Mustapha of the State Civil Service Commission; Isah Waziri, a dismissed staff of the State Pensions Board; Hassan Adamu of NLPC Pension Administration, Minna; Ibrahim Abubakar of the State Audit, Minna and Umar Abdullahi of the Niger State Pension Borad Minna.
