Bayelsa State governor, Senator Douye Diri, has forwarded 24 names to the state assembly for confirmation as commissioners.
This is coming six months after he assumed the mantle of leadership in the state on February 14, 2020, following the Supreme Court judgement that declared him as the duly elected governor of the state.

The list, read on the floor of the house on Thursday by the Speaker, Abraham Ngobere, had only three men who served under the immediate past governor, Seriake Dickson.
They are; Maxuel Ebibai, who served under Dickson as commissioner for Finance; Hon. Boraladei Daniel Igali, who served as commissioner for Sports; and Dr Igwele Pabara Newton, who served as Commissioner for Health.
Others on the list are, Miss Preye Broderick, Mr Esua Andrew, Dr Ibiere Jones, Chief Thompson Amule, Miss Grace Ekiotene, Mr Stanley Braboke, Survey Moses Teibowei, Hon. Iselema Gbaranbiri, Chief David Alagoa, Mr Dambo Birigha (SAN) and Iti Orugbani.
Also on the list are Dr Promise Ekio, Mr Otikito Federal, Miss Faith Orubo Opuene, Mr Obosi Churson, Mr Seikumo Ekisah, Engr. Akpoebidei Alamieyesigha, Mr Rex Flint George, Mr Ebitein Tonyon, Mr Ayebaina Duba and Hon. Gentle Emelah.
The state assembly has invited the nominees to appear before it on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 for screening.
