Six members of the same family died in an auto crash while returning from a burial at Kwali, on the Abuja-Lokoja expressway.
Our reporter learnt that one among the two who sustained injuries later died at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, Abuja.
A witness said the accident, which happened on Saturday around 2:19 pm near Secretariat Junction, involved a Toyota Sienna van with registration number ABJ 649 AE and a Sino truck with registration number KZR 26 ZC.
He said the Toyota Sienna conveying seven family members had a tyre burst while on speed, adding that the bus lost control and rammed into a moving truck and the passengers were trapped in the wreckage.
He said men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) arrived the scene with an extricating machine to remove the trapped victims to hospital.
Our reporter learnt that the family members travelled to Ejule, in Ayingba Local Government Area of Kogi State, for burial and were returning to Abuja when the incident happened.
When contacted, Yangoji unit commander of the FRSC, ACC Aminu Shuaibu, confirmed the accident, which he attributed to tyre burst and over speeding.
He said the corpses had been deposited at the Kwali General Hospital.
