Six people have been confirmed dead and two others sustained various degrees of injuries in a fatal motor accident at Kwara village, Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Bogoro, Mr Bauchi Yakubu, said the accident occurred when the driver, Aliyu Yakubu, tried to avoid potholes but ended up entering into a ditch after the vehicle had somersaulted.
“I received a phone call early this morning around 5am that a vehicle, J5 boxer conveying some people and cattle from Taraba to Mararaba Market in Liman Katagum had a ghastly accident in Kwara village. We rushed to the scene of the incident and discovered that some of them had died already while some later died in the hospital. Their corpses are now at the General Hospital, Bogoro,” he said.

When contacted, the state Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Yusuf Abdullahi confirmed the accident and the number of casualties.
Abdullahi added that the corpses and the victims were evacuated to the General Hospital, Bogoro where a medical doctor confirmed the death of six persons.
