The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested six people suspected to be firearms suppliers, vandals and a motorcycle thief.
This was contained in a statement signed by the assistant spokesman of the command, ASP Abubakar Isah, and made available to newsmen on Tuesday evening.
He said the police recovered pump action cartridges, vandalised wires, a motorcycle, among others.
The statement reads in part: “On 03/10/2023 at about 0900hrs, one Bilal Faraji ‘m’ aged 29 of Niger Republic and one Yusuf A. Yusuf ‘m’ aged 28 of Kazaure LGA, Jigawa State, were arrested as the suppliers of firearms and ammunition to unscrupulous elements terrorising Ringim and its environs.”

It said on interrogation, the suspects confessed to having been selling and supplying firearms within Kano and Jigawa states.
