Five hundred and sixty Plateau State Muslim pilgrims, on Sunday afternoon, arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Executive Secretary of the state’s Muslim pilgrims’ board, Barr Auwal Abdullahi, has confirmed.

In a statement issued by the spokesman of the board, Namu Sanusi, Auwal said the pilgrims were screened and boarded on a MaxAir aircraft which departed the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi at 6am on Sunday.

The statement reads in part: “Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alamin, our first batch of intending pilgrims numbering 560 have safely arrived Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj.

“The flight departed Bauchi at 6am, and Inshaa Allah, the second batch is expected to depart later.”

Plateau State has been allocated 834 Hajj seats for the 2022 pilgrimage by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
