A 56-year-old school, Baban Dodo Primary School, Makera, in Kakuri, Kaduna South Local government Area, has received a lifeline with the renovation of five classrooms.

The roof of the classrooms was in August, 2020, destroyed by a windstorm, which prompted the management of Eurofoam to come to the schools’ aid by renovating five out of its 22 classrooms.

The Managing Director of the company, Mohammed El-Husseini, who was represented by the Marketing Manager, Dennis Yakubu, said the company had benefited from the peaceful co-existence with the community since its inception 19 years ago.

El-Husseini said, “It is indeed ethical for a visionary company having been supported by the community within which it operates to plow back to that society as a mark of appreciation which is called social corporate responsibility.”

He further said the company had last week commissioned a borehole at Makera and prayed that the company would one day build a complete school and other facilities for the less privileged.

The Headmaster of the school, Sunday Usman, said the school had 22 classrooms, a student population of about 1,400, with 60 academic and non-academic staff.

Usman thanked the company for the gesture and called on other companies and wealthy Nigerians to come to their aid as the school was in dire need of assistance.

The representative of the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB) and Director of Schools, Idris Aliyu, thanked the company for coming to the aid of government in transforming the school.

He charged the community, the school management and stakeholders to ensure the facilities were properly maintained.
