5422 children miss polio vaccination in Katsina

About 5422 children from 3510 households in Katsina were missed during January 2017  Oral Polio Vaccination across the state, UNICEF said.

 
UNICEF Katsina Chief Field officer Padmavathi Yedla who disclosed this during a meeting with Volunteer Community Mobiliser (VCM) said there is the need to work together to reach out to all those children who missed vaccination.
 
She said, UNICEF is still looking forward to resolving 2001 non compliance of about 3423 children adding that all hands must be on deck to remedy the situation.
 
According to her, the fight against polio has come a long way and this meeting shall strengthen bond to ensure more commitment towards evolving a polio free society.
 
With over 2500 social mobilization network, Yedla said “Unicef believes that we can work better as a cohesive team that responds to the expectation of government and people.”
