Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has flagged off the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) screening and Cervical Cancer prevention services for 5,000 women across nine LGAs of the state.

Flagging off the exercise at the Jummai Babangida Maternal and Neo-natal Hospital Minna, Bello said the service was launched to reduce the prevalence of cancer in the state.

The governor said the exercise, which will be in phases, was to remedy the situation as well as meet the 90-70-90 World Health Organisation (WHO) cancer elimination strategy in the state.
