5,000 civil servants write promotion exam in Ogun

No fewer than 5,000 eligible civil servants in Ogun state took part in the 2016/2017 promotion examination organized by the State Civil Service Commission.

The Acting Chairman, Ogun State Civil Service Commission, Surajudeen Olusesi, who disclosed this said the purpose of the exercise was to test the capability of the participating officers and prepare them for tasks ahead.

Olusesi said promotion of civil servants to next grade levels was not automatic, adding that officers must work hard towards achieving success, in order to secure their promotions.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Amope Chokor, said the introduction of the Computer Base Test (CBT) for officers on grade levels 6 to 10 was to increase their proficiency in the use of computer, and expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the examination.

One of the participants, Elegbede Oluseyi from Bureau of Lands and Survey, applauded the Commission for the introduction of CBT, saying that it was a welcome idea.
