500 women enlisted into Jonathan’s Kaduna team

Jonathan’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which has been controlling the state since 1999 is facing stiff challenges from the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).   
The team’s women council was inaugurated yesterday at Jonathan’s campaign office during a brief ceremony in Kaduna.
Director General of the team Usaini Jalo said in his remarks that the council, comprising about 500 women across the state, would among other functions mobilise thousands of women for a presidential campaign rally on Saturday and conduct house-to-house campaigns to woo women’s votes.
He said women would be empowered to play crucial role in the PDP campaigns ahead of the general elections.
One of the members of the newly established women council, La’aitu Danladi said “we shall carry out door-to-door campaigns to ensure that more women vote for PDP. We are hopeful that at the close of presidential polls in Kaduna State, Jonathan will lead.”
