No fewer than 500 senior secondary school Muslim students on Sunday sat for the 2019 Career Mentorship Program (CMP) scholarship examination organized by an Islamic group, Standard Bearers Islamic Organization (SB) Osun State branch.
The Muslim students who are in SS3 were tested in Mathematics and English Language across 5 centres in Osun and Ondo States.
The centres where the scholarship examination took places include; Oduduwa College, Ile Ife; Muslim Unity Secondary Academy, Akure; Islamic Model College, Iwo; Laro Middle School, Osogbo; and Ede Muslim High School, Ede.
Mr. Fatai Hassan, the Director of the CMP, said the placement test was smooth and hitch-free in all the 5 centres.
He said that students that qualified in the scholarship examination will be given free WAEC and JAMB fees among other benefits.
He noted that students who score 50% and above will also be given awards.
Hassan said the aim of the program is to develop the minds of the Muslim students.
Similarly, the Chief examiner of CMP, Mr. Abdullahi Muslim, said the examination was a great success in all the five centres.
He said the questions that were set are set according to WAEC standard and they are obviously not beyond the capacity of the Senior Secondary School 3 which is a criteria to sit for the examination.
Abdullahi said he was impressed with the conduct of the students which showed that they really prepared for the test.
One of the candidates, Durojare Ibrahim said the examination was well organized, adding that the questions were tough.
A parent, Mr. Ayodele Adam, commended the organizers for conducting a hitch-free examination as he expressed optimism that the program will enhance the academic performance of the Muslim students.
