While stressing that the book will further increase the knowledge of Islam amongst the physically impaired people, Mrs Buhari assured the gathering of her support in promoting quality education particularly for vulnerable Nigerians.

The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency, NOA Dr. Garba Abari, who described the initiative as laudable, explained that the NOA will continue to partner with organisations that shared the same ideas with his agency.

The Executive Secretary of the Qatari Charity Foundation, Mr. Hamdi Audu said the foundation had empowered over two hundred thousand Nigerians, including 1500 orphans in six states in the federation.

He said the foundation had also built 338 mosques in ten states and about 1400 boreholes across the country.

The guest speaker at the event, Sheik Mohammed Tajudeen enjoined the beneficiaries to always take proper care of the eyes and to make judicious use of the Qur’an given to them.

Some of the beneficiaries, while commending the foundation for the initiative, appealed to other organisations to assist them with life-impacting programmes to enable them contribute to the development of the country.
