50 bag first class as 6,499 graduate from Nasarawa varsity

Fifty students who bagged first class from the Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, will on Saturday, receive their certificates during the institution’s 6th, 7th and 8th convocation ceremony.

Professor Shehu Abdul-Raman, the Vice Chancellor of the University, revealed this during a pre-convocation media briefing in Lafia, the state capital.

He said a total of 6,499 graduates from the three sets of the university would be awarded degrees during the ceremony.

According to him, the university under his leadership made remarkable achievements in the last three years.

He promised that the management of the university would continue to maintain qualitative standards in order to have graduates who would be able to contribute meaningfully to the development of the society.

The Vice-Chancellor while clarifying that the university’s management was working hard to partner with critical stakeholders in the state to tackle the issue of insecurity, said all cadre of staff in the institution had been trained to update their knowledge in their chosen disciplines.

He, however, posited that their (staff) welfare had also been a top priority of his administration since he assumed duty as Vice Chancellor of the university.

His words, “Our graduates have been provided with necessary knowledge and skills in their various disciplines for discovery and development.

“They have received adequate mentorship that will give them the edge over their peers. The university leadership do not only train students to have certificates but also to prepare them to have potentials.”
