The police command in Kano State has confirmed that it rescued five persons from suspected kidnappers along Tudun Wada-Doguwa highway situated around Falgore forest.
The highway has been known as a dangerous zone housing kidnappers and bandits terrorizing parts of Kano, Katsina and Kaduna states.

The rescued victims were said to be traveling to Kano when they were accosted by the kidnappers along the forested highway.
The police spokesman in Kano, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who confirmed the incident, said the victims were about to be whisked into the forest when they were rescued by the police operatives of Operation Puff-Adder attached to the command.
He said the incident occurred in the morning on Monday adding that the police had begun an investigation into the incident.
Falgore Forest has heavy security presence with roadblocks mounted by both Army and Mobile Police operatives spaced few meters apart.
The state Commissioner of Police, Habu A. Sani had visited Falgore region not long ago where he assessed the security situation in the area.
Daily Trust recalls that a few months ago, a multi-million naira well-fortified military camp was launched at Falgore Forest with a view to tackling the protracted security threats the forest posed to the surrounding communities.
