The award winning Pan-African drama series, MTV Shuga, has returned for the casting of its fourth season in Nigeria, courtesy of MTV Staying Alive Foundation.

The drama series, which has produced many entertainment celebrities, including Lupita Nyong’o and Timini Egbuson among others, is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and supported by MTV Base Africa and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

Produced this year by award-winning director, Tope Oshin, the multi-award winning MTV Shuga continues to champion conversations about real issues affecting youths, using relatable characters and stories which revolve around contraception, sexual health, family planning, gender-based violence and other social issues.

Here are five reasons why you shouldn’t miss the auditions for MTV Shuga Season 4 holding in Lagos today:

Central Location

You don’t need to break a sweat to begin your journey to stardom; This year’s ‘MTV Shuga’ auditions will be held today at Classique Events Centre in Ikeja, Lagos.

Career in the entertainment industry

‘MTV Shuga’ enables you to interact and work with some of the best actors, producers and directors in Nigeria, including award winning producer, Tope Oshin, who will be producing this year’s series.

Registration

This year, MTV shuga has made the registration process seamless, according to the organisers. People who have pre-registered via EventBrite prior to the auditions get a chance to be fast-tracked upon arrival at the venue today.

Budding actors are urged to reach out to MTV Shuga Naija on social media.

You could be the next Lupita Nyong’o or Emmanuel Ikubuese. It will be recalled that Lupita was featured on ‘MTV Shuga’ way before she blew the minds of 83 billion people across the world in the movie “12 Years A Slave.”

By auditioning for MTV Shuga, you just may move from calling these stars goals to stardom.

According to the organisers, auditions are open to Nigerian residents aged 18+ and will run from 8am until 6pm.

“Participants will be required to provide one head shot photograph (minimum size 4×6 inches) and a form of photo identification, such as a passport, driver’s license, national ID card or student ID card,” they said.
