5 months after, Rarara yet to release ‘sponsored song’ for Buhari

Five months after asking Nigerians to sponsor his next song on President Muhammadu Buhari, top artist, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, is yet to release any song.

Rarara had, in September 2020, asked Nigerians to contribute N1000 each to fund his next song for President Buhari to prove to the world that the president is still the masses’ favourite.

Since then, people have been asking questions whether the singer had failed to get the needed amount or the move was just an attempt to swindle the masses.

SPONSOR AD

In one of the interviews the singer conducted on his plan, Rarara was quoted saying: “I was pushed to make that call base on some claims by Buhari’s antagonists who claimed that Buhari has lost popularity among Nigerian masses.

“Knowing well that President Buhari is still dear to poor Nigerians, I resolved to make the call on the supporters of Mr President to contribute N1000 each to fund my next song.

“This is just to fault the propaganda that the masses are no more with Buhari. By that, if they respond to the call and fund the project, it means our president is still popular and Nigerian masses are still behind him.”

Several attempts to get an update from the singer proved abortive as all calls put across to his phone line were not connecting.

However, many observers have expressed their disappointment over the singer’s inability to do what he promised as well as his failure to go public and disclosed the total amount he gathered as he promised.
