The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that the bus with registration number XC 869 GCE, was said to have lost control and ran into commuters.
“The bus was fully loaded with passengers and was going from Oshodi to Agege.
“The molue was coming with speed and due to break failure, somersaulted before crashing into the crowd,” a witness said.
A NAN correspondent who visited the scene shortly after the accident, observed that many passengers in the bus and people at the bus stop sustained varying degrees of injuries.
A commercial motorcyclist who gave his name as Monday Oghediari, told NAN that a female passenger he was conveying died on the spot.
Oghediari said he escaped death because he was able to jump out before the bus reached them.
Officers of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), were at the scene to rescue the victims.
