The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned five middle aged men before an Ado-Ekiti magistrates’ court for allegedly stealing a Bajaj motorcycle and receiving stolen property.
The police prosecutor, Caleb Leranmo, told the court yesterday that the defendants committed the offence between April and September in Ado-Ekiti.

According to the prosecutor, the defendants, on the said date, stole one Bajaj motorcycle valued at N330,000, property of one Olaosebikan Suleiman and sold same to Kabiru Ibrahim, one of the defendants, who was in court.
Leranmo alleged that the defendants forged receipt to sell the motorcycle to Kabiru and that the offence was contrary to and punishable under Sections 516 and 427 of the Criminal Code.
The defendants pleaded not guilty and their counsel, Mr. Timi Omotosho, urged the court to grant them bail, promising that they would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abdulhamid Lawal, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N200,00, with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to December 21.
