5 die in Ogun multiple accidents

Five persons died while one other was injured in multiple accidents at Iju Bridge, along Ota-Idiroko Road in Ado -Odo/ Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State on Wednesday. 

The accident involved a tanker laden with diesel, a Toyota Camry with registration number FKJ 132 HE, a Volkswagen Golf car, a tricycle marked KSF 822 QL and a motorcycle.

Man arraigned for applying pepper to 17-year-old private part

The spokesman of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident in Abeokuta on Wednesday. 

He said the driver of the tanker marked KTU 258 XT suffered a brake failure, causing him to lose control of the wheels and rammed into the affected vehicles before falling into a ditch.

Akinbiyi disclosed that 11 people comprised of eight males and three females were involved in the accident.

“The injured victim has been rescued to the hospital before our arrival by good Samaritan while the presumed dead had been evacuated to General Hospital Morgue, Ota,” Akinbiyi said.
