Five children of the FCT chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Wakili Mudugu, were reportedly injured following farmers and herders clash in the Gwako community in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.
A farmer in Gwako, Danjuma Saleh, said the incident happened on Saturday after some cows allegedly invaded a farm belonging to some natives of the community and destroyed crops in the area.
He said trouble started when owners of the farms discovered that crops had been destroyed by the cows, a situation which he said resulted to a clash between the children of the Miyetti Allah chairman and the farmers.
He said one of the herders allegedly pulled out a machete and inflicted injuries on one of the farmers, adding that the farmers also retaliated in the process.
