The police have arraigned a 48-year-old man, Victor Evbuomwan, before an Egor magistrates’ court for converting one King Blessing Obakpolor’s money to his personal use.
According to the charge sheet, sometime in 2017 at Ogida area, Benin City, the accused stole one Steyr Truck valued at N3,200,000.00, property of one King Blessing Obakpolor, entrusted in his care as a supervisor, and sold and converted the proceeds to his personal use without the consent of the owner.
And that between 2015 and 2016, the accused asked one Omorogbe Jeffery and five others to pay him N50,000.00 each as a condition for giving out six Vanette buses to them on hire purchase without the consent of the owner of the buses, One King Blessing Obakpolor.
The charge sheet added that sometime in 2017 at Ogida area the accused mandated one Dele Ovbokhan to remit weekly balances of monies to his Zenith Bank account contrary to the oral agreement made with the owner, King Blessing Obakpolor, which amounted to N3,055,000.00.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail.
Magistrate F .A. Aghedo adjourned the case to February 7.
